Module 3 Rhymes of History

A technology tool that represents a rhyme in history would be the use of email.  The use of email replaced people writing letters to each other and communicating with each other in person.  Email can be considered as a form of communication that schools use as well to communicate with staff members of the school versus sending out copied letters to people.  Email retrieves from the past the ability to have reliable and quick communication with people, whereas within the past, people had to wait to receive letters through snail mail. The following links provide information on email usage http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-email.htm
A statement that was shared in the video is, “we should be prepared for believing in the impossible” (Kelly, 2007).  This is a true statement, because when it comes to the Internet and the future of technology in general, there are endless possibilities as in what will happen and how it will impact our future and upcoming generations.

  1. Schquetta,
I think letters to email is a good example of rhymes of history. When watching the Kelly (2007) TED talk, I really started thinking about what historic societal activities fit into the categories of embodiment, restructuring, and codependency. Where do you think letter writing fits into these three categories?
    Best,
    Marc
